Better Through Books & Dial M for Movies: "Loving" Movie Discussion
Wednesday, March 247:00—8:00 PMOnline
Join Library Director Peter Struzziero and fellow movie aficionados for a follow-up discussion of the Loving special movie screening held as part of Belmont's Better Through Books: Healing Community Together program series on Monday, March 22nd. The film Loving is the story of Richard and Mildred Loving, a couple whose arrest for interracial marriage in 1960s Virginia began a legal battle that would end with the Supreme Court's historic 1967 decision. Nominated for an Oscar, multiple Golden Globes and winner of a Black Film Critics Circle award and a African-American Film Critics Association award, Loving is the moving interpretation of a true story of love overcoming discrimination in the United States.
