Virtual Film Screening & Discussion: Saturday Church

Wednesday, June 227:00—9:00 PMOnline

Saturday Church is a compelling film about 14-year-old Ulysses. After his father's death, Ulysses struggles not only with grief, but also with questions about his gender identity. He finds joy in dance, music, and a fabulous transgender community.

We are screening this film after June 19 to avoid any conflicts with other Juneteenth celebrations. This film was suggested by members of the Black LGBTQIA+ community in the greater Boston area as a way to reflect on the layers of what freedom means for people who are both Black and LGBTQIA+.

Sponsored by Belmont Public Library, Belmont LGBTQ Alliance, and LexPride. LexPride will give $25 prizes to four participants at the end of the film discussion!

Registration for this event has now closed.
