From Suffrage to ERA: Where Are We on Women's Rights?

Thursday, April 297:00—8:00 PMOnline

Even before women won the right to vote in 1920 they began fighting for constitutional equality. A century later, equality for half the population remains elusive. Why are women still second-class citizens, how does their legal status manifest in everyday life, and what can we do today to help women in America achieve basic human equality?

Wendy Murphy, JD will present this illuminating examination of women's rights in the last century. Murphy is Adjunct Professor of Sexual Violence and Law Reform, and Director of the Women's and Children's Advocacy Project at New England Law | Boston and an impact litigator specializing in women's and children's constitutional and civil rights.
