National Purple Heart Day Observation with Belmont Veterans Memorial Committee

Monday, August 77:00—8:00 PMClaypit Pond

Each year National Purple Heart Day is observed on August 7th, commemorating the historic day in 1782 that General George Washington, Commander-In-Chief of the Continental Army, commissioned the first Purple Heart Medal, originally called the Badge of Military Merit.

On Monday August 7th at 7pm The Belmont Veterans Memorial Committee will be hosting the National Purple Heart Day Observation event at Claypit Pond and welcome all members of the Belmont community to attend.

The Belmont Veterans Services Office along with the support of Belmont Public Library have always offered support and assistance to conduct this event and we look forward to showing our gratitude for the service and sacrifice of all of our Belmont Veterans and Purple Heart recipients.
