Nonfiction Book Club

Thursday, November 197:00—8:15 PMOnline

Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction - or more interesting! Join librarians Lauren Pfendner and Chris Tremblay in the Nonfiction Book Club for an online discussion of  Butter: A Rich History by Elaine Khosrova on Thursday, November 19 at 7pm. From its humble agrarian origins to its present-day artisanal glory, butter has a fascinating story to tell, and Khosrova is the perfect person to tell it. With tales about the ancient butter bogs of Ireland, the pleasure dairies of France, and the sacred butter sculptures of Tibet, Khosrova details butter’s role in history, politics, economics, nutrition, and even spirituality and art.

Registration is required so that we can send you the information to join the Zoom meeting on the day of the program. Please email Chris Tremblay at ctremblay@minlib.net if you have any questions.

The title is available as a print book (requestable through the catalog) as well as an ebook through hoopla:
