Thursday, July 137:00—8:30 PMOnline

We all know the adage, "those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” Don't be a victim - instead join librarians Lauren Pfendner and Chris Tremblay for an engrossing read of historical nonfiction every month. July's selection is River of the Gods: Genius, Courage, and Betrayal in the Search for the Source of the Nile by Candice Millard. A New York Times bestseller, River of the Gods was described in the New York Times Book Review as "a lean, fast-paced account of the almost absurdly dangerous quest by [Richard Burton and John Speke] to solve the geographic riddle of their era. . . Candice Millard has earned her legions of admirers. She is a graceful writer and a careful researcher, and she knows how to navigate a tangled tale ."

This book club for adults & teens will be held in hybrid format - both online through Zoom and in person. Register to let us know you're coming and you will receive the Zoom link either way.
