We all know the adage, "those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” Don't be a victim - instead join librarians Lauren Pfendner and Chris Tremblay for an engrossing read of historical nonfiction every month. November's selection is The Heartbeat of Wounded Knee: Native America from 1890 to the Present by David Treuer. A finalist for the 2019 National Book Award and long-listed for the 2020 Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence, The Heartbeat of Wounded Knee is described by the NY Times Book Review as "an informed, moving and kaleidoscopic portrait... Treuer's powerful book suggests the need for soul-searching about the meanings of American history and the stories we tell ourselves about this nation's past."

This book club for adults & teens will be held online through Zoom. Register to receive the link to join. Copies of the book will be available for pickup at the library. Questions? Email Chris Tremblay at ctremblay@minlib.net.
