We all know the adage, "those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” Don't be a victim - instead join librarians Lauren Pfendner and Chris Tremblay for an engrossing read of historical nonfiction every month. January's selection is The Children's Blizzard by David Laskin.  As noted by Publisher's Weekly, "Laskin writes in this gripping chronicle of meteorological chance and human folly and error, [that] the School Children's Blizzard, as it came to be known, was 'a clean, fine blade through the history of the prairie,' a turning point in the minds of the most steadfast settlers: by the turn of the 20th century, 60% of pioneer families had left the plains." The book is equally described as "heartbreaking" and "reads like a thriller."

This book club for adults & teens will be held in hybrid format - both online through Zoom and in person. Register to let us know you're coming and you will receive the Zoom link either way. Copies of the book will be available for pickup at the library. Questions? Email Chris Tremblay at ctremblay@minlib.net.
