Tai Chi Easy, Level 2

Wednesday, August 267:00—8:30 PMOnline

Tai Chi practitioner and coach, Aisling O'Shea, will guide you through this beautiful and low impact form of martial art and meditation. No equipment necessary; just wear comfortable clothing! Anyone is welcome to join, especially if you've attended or watched any Tai Chi classes from the Belmont Public Library (watch the recording from our class on April 25 here on YouTube).

This class will build on Level 1, providing an opportunity for participants to experience longer periods of
continuous flow and refinement of their Tai Chi Easy practice. The instructor will lead participants in the flowing sequence of the 5 Tai Chi Easy movements: 1) Harmonizing Yin and Yang; 2) Brush Knee, Send Chi; 3) Cutting a Path to Clarity; 4) Watching Clouds Pass; and 5) Gathering Chi from Earth and Heaven. As with Level 1, these Tai Chi movements may be adapted for standing or sitting.

During the second part of the Level 2 class, the instructor will lead participants in the Eight Organ
Harmony and Six Qi Method practices. In addition, Level 2 will include an introduction to the first section of the Tai Chi long form (Yang style). The benefits of Tai Chi Easy practice, including the enhanced awareness of posture, breath and mind, will be valuable for those participants who wish to learn additional Tai Chi movements. There will also be an opportunity for a recap and practice of the 5-movement Tai Chi Easy sequence, and time for questions from participants before the end of class.

This program will be held online through Zoom. Register to receive the link to join. By registering once for this class, you will be signed up for all Level 2 classes through August.  Questions? Email Corinne at ccoveney@minlib.net
