Under the Stars: Astronomy Viewing

Monday, November 75:00—6:30 PMWinn Brook Soccer Fields97 Waterhouse Road, Belmont, MA, 02478

Finally rescheduled from our 10/3 cancellation - our stars have truly aligned! Our friends from the Amateur Telescope Makers of Boston organization will give a short lecture on what's currently in the night sky, and then we will be able to look through their telescopes and see for ourselves. We will see a bright Moon, Jupiter, Saturn, and other starry goodies like the Pleiades star cluster.

Any flashlights should be low-power and covered with a dark-red filter (maybe made from an inexpensive plastic report cover from a stationery store). Please do not use LED lights on headbands or flashlight apps on smart phones (unless the app allows the color of the light to be made dark red) to allow for the best viewing of the night sky.

5:00-5:30pm: Evening sky orientation

5:30-6:30pm:    Stargazing with telescopes

Registration for this event has now closed.
