Founded in 1913 by the Science Teachers’ Bureau, the Boston Children’s Museum is the second oldest children’s museum in the world and one of the few that maintain a collection. Designed for both children and families, the Museum exhibits focus on science, culture, environmental awareness, health & fitness, and the arts, emphasizing hands-on engagement and learning through experience, and employing play as a tool to spark the inherent creativity, curiosity, and imagination of children.

When you book this pass online, you will receive a confirmation email with a link for printing the pass. Please print out the pass or keep it digitally on a hand held device. If you do not own a printer or a hand held device, please call the Reference Desk at the Belmont Public Library at 617-993-2870 and ask to have the pass printed out for you and held for you at the Reference Desk of the Belmont Public Library.
After receiving a library discount coupon from the library, patrons must then reserve their visit online with Boston Children’s Museum. Due to safety measures walk-ins are not allowed. Museum capacity is limited at this time.
The Boston Children's Museum pass admits 4 people. With the pass, the current co-pay is half price per person. From July - September 5th, 2022, the Museum is open seven days a week, and reverts back to Wednesday through Sunday on September 6th, 2022. The Museum is operating hours are from 9 AM to 12:30 PM and from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM. The Museum is closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. The Museum closes at 12:30 PM on Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve, and opens at 2 PM on New Year's Day.

Plimoth Patuxet Museums offers a living history that tells the story of the English colonists who became known as “Pilgrims” and the Native Americans with whom they interacted. A big draw is the re-creation of the original settlement, populated with interpreters in period dress with whom one may interact that are based on actual historical figures. Native People from various nations in historically accurate dress provide information about the Wampanoag—the first tribe the Pilgrims encountered—at a home site based on how the group would have lived in the 17th century. In addition to the two settlements, the museum includes a visitor center, the Craft Center, barns that contain rare and heritage animal breeds, and a grist mill that manufactures cornmeal. Plymouth Patuxet Museums is also responsible for the replica of the Mayflower, the ship that brought the Pilgrims to the New World.
